Hello, and welcome everyone! To tell you a little about me, I received my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2016 from Adler University in Chicago, IL and completed the requirements for my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in September 2021 with an emphasis in children and adolescents. I first started working with individuals in 2012 as a paraprofessional on UIC’s InTouch Crisis Hotline providing basic counseling and crisis intervention services. It was that experience that showed me how much I enjoy working with people and helping them reach their personal goals in life. Since then, I’ve worked in various settings including community mental health, private practices, a psychiatric inpatient facility, and a therapeutic day school. I have found that working in private practice allows me to have more freedom and flexibility to work with my clients and tailor treatment to their specific needs. Throughout my career, I was able to gain experience providing supervision to undergraduate level, masters level, and doctoral level students. I’ve learned that I enjoy teaching and sharing information I have with others so they can also learn, grow, and achieve their goals in life.
I have experience working with individuals dealing with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, self-harm, behavioral issues, personality disorders, postpartum depression/anxiety, as well as other disorders. I’m trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) for PTSD and trauma-related disorders. Primarily, I operate from a psychodynamic perspective and see the importance of analyzing childhood experiences to understand current thought and behavior patterns affecting my clients. I often incorporate Attachment Theory to help individuals identify their attachment patterns, how this impacts relationships, and to identify needs in relationships. I’m currently in the process of receiving further training to specialize in treating attachment trauma. Additionally, I see the importance in using the therapeutic relationship and collaborating with my clients to facilitate growth through using various modalities, including cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, motivational interviewing, and gender-affirming care, based on each client’s needs. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has the ability to learn, grow, and improve their outcomes!
During my free time, I love learning new things, exploring new locations, and learning about different cultures, religions, and ways of life. I also enjoy playing soccer, going to the gym, and doing various other physical activities. I’m a huge lover of both animals and nature, and like to spend some of my time playing video games when I can.
